Sunday June 10th 2001 - Post-Classic party at the Bus Stop

By the time we got to his place, the front lawn and his drive was already full of VWs. Charly got out some orange coans to make sure he could fit all these cars on the lawn. Luckaly his brother lives next door, which gave him enough space to keep the cars off the street and all of the other neighbours happy :-).

All of the people you normally read about in the magazines where there (Kimball, Collins, Ed Economy). There was plenty to drink and eat (a BIG stack of pizza boxes) and lot's of cool busses to check out. He has about a dozen of busses on the lot. Some of them were coverd up, but Charly would unveil them one at a time. This really kept the party going as it gave you something new to look at/talk about.

The best bit was a trip up to the attick. Up there he is building a bus out of clamped together NOS panels. He's got an almost complete NOS '58 double door panel van up there!! It is truely amazing. One the shelves he has tones of NOS, hard to find bus parts. Anything from cranck handles, to cargo door, ribbed bumpers and even 10 ambulance fans.
